How to Become a Certified Trainer at Train Walk Poop

You do not need to be a dog trainer to work at a dog training company. At Train Walk Poop, most of our trainers started as kennel techs. They learned on the job, got coached by our team, and earned certifications along the way.

Step 1: Start as a Junior

Everyone starts as a Junior Kennel Tech or a Junior Trainer. You learn how our play groups work, how to keep dogs safe, and how to read dog behavior. You are never alone. A team is beside you.

Step 2: Earn your certifications

We have three staff certifications. Each one comes with a raise.

  • Socialization Cert. For kennel techs and trainers.
  • Deluxe Cert. For kennel techs and trainers.
  • Advanced Training Cert. For trainers.

If you start as a tech and later move to the trainer path, your certs go with you.

Step 3: Move up

After you earn your certs, you can apply to become a Senior and then a Master. Senior is for great team members who meet a high standard. Master is for people with lots of experience who meet an even higher one. Management approves both, and you keep them up by keeping the standard.

Why we do it this way

Every dog deserves a skilled, caring person. The best way we know to get one is to teach them ourselves, then reward them as they grow.

If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
