This is a more intensive program where your dog will go home at night with their trainer! You will drop off your dog (aged 8 weeks to 4 months) on Monday morning and pick them up on Friday afternoon for 2 weeks. Towards the end of each week, you will have a 1-hour training session to make sure you can continue practicing your pup’s good behaviors over the weekend. It is our board and train program made just for puppies.

In 2007, a roommate told me he was getting a puppy and asked if I wanted to come along. I had nothing else planned, so I went with him and unexpectedly came home with a puppy of my own. He was adorable, but reality quickly set in. Accidents happened everywhere, including my condo, the elevator, and common walkways, and my neighbors were not impressed. I realized I was completely unprepared. That experience sparked my determination to learn everything I could about training. What began as an impulse decision became one of the most important turning points of my life and career.
I love being part of a dog’s journey and helping dogs and their families communicate clearly so life feels easier and more enjoyable for everyone involved. Watching progress unfold is what motivates me every day. I especially enjoy solving behavior challenges and finding practical ways to guide dogs toward better choices. Seeing that moment when a dog suddenly understands what we are asking is incredibly rewarding. It reminds me why I chose this path. Helping families build trust, confidence, and lasting communication with their dogs is something I truly care about and feel grateful to do every single day.
After moving from Michigan to work in the outdoor industry, I managed teams at rafting companies and later worked at a ski resort. My career path shifted when I began struggling with my dog, who escaped kennels and jumped through windows. I realized that improving communication between humans and dogs could change lives. That experience opened my eyes to understanding canine behavior. Today, I focus on helping families create stronger, balanced relationships with their dogs. Supporting people as they build trust, structure, and harmony with their pets is meaningful to me.
I discovered my passion for dog training while volunteering with a service dog organization. I was drawn to understanding each dog’s needs and adjusting my approach to help them succeed. Over time, I transitioned into working with pet dogs and their families, where I found my calling. I enjoy guiding dogs and people through the learning process and witnessing the transformation that happens when communication improves. Helping dogs feel confident and supported is just as important to me as empowering owners with practical tools. Being part of that growth motivates me every day.
Becoming a trainer was never part of my original plan. I started by working at animal shelters, helping stray animals find loving homes, which was an incredibly meaningful chapter of my life. I later worked on farms, attended college to become a vet tech, and gained experience in daycares and clinics before joining Train Walk Poop. Before drop-off: Please notify us if your puppy has shown any signs of illness in the past 48 hours, including coughing, sneezing, lethargy, vomiting, or diarrhea. We’re happy to reschedule once they’re feeling better.

A new puppy is wonderful for about three days. Then the biting starts, the carpet gets ruined, and 2 a.m. feels very far from the picture you had in your head. Good news: none of that means you got a bad puppy. It means you got a normal one. Here is what we tell every new puppy family, this is the school Where Puppies Learn Excellence, after all.
As early as 8 weeks. A puppy’s brain is wide open between 8 and 16 weeks. What they learn in that window, good or bad, sticks for life. You are not waiting for your puppy to be ready for training. Your puppy is already learning from you every single day. Training just decides what the lessons are.
It is a simple socialization guide: by about 16 weeks, your puppy should experience at least 7 different surfaces, 7 different places, 7 kinds of people, 7 new sounds, and so on. The exact number is not magic. The point is variety early on. A puppy that meets the world in small, positive doses becomes a confident adult dog. A puppy kept in a bubble becomes the dog that barks at skateboards.
Most puppies can be reliably potty trained in 2 to 4 weeks with a consistent routine, and many are mostly there sooner. The secret is not punishing accidents, it is preventing them: out after every meal, nap, and play session, and a reward the second the job is done outside. If your puppy is past 4 months and still having regular accidents, something in the routine is missing, and that is fixable.
